FYI: Important Cover 3 Foundation Site Information
About This Section The following information provides important operational reminders for Cover 3 Foundation sponsored sites. This FYI section is provided for reference and will NOT be included on the Final CACFP Knowledge Assessment. Communication Is Important Good communication between sponsored sites and Cover 3 Foundation is essential to successful program operations. Do not wait until a problem becomes urgent to contact Cover 3 Foundation. If you have a question, concern, change, or problem involving the food program, contact Cover 3 Foundation directly. Monthly Emails Cover 3 Foundation will send a monthly email by the 1st of each month containing: - New monthly menus - Required monthly paperwork - Other important program information or updates Site staff should review these emails promptly and make sure the appropriate staff members receive the information. Check your email regularly and make sure Cover 3 Foundation has your current email address. Menu Changes & Vendor Availability Meals and snacks are subject to change based on vendor item availability at the time of ordering. If an item being served is different from what appears on the daily menu: MAKE THE CHANGE TO THE DAILY MENU IMMEDIATELY TO REFLECT WHAT IS ACTUALLY BEING SERVED THAT DAY. The final menu should accurately document the food that was actually served—not simply what was originally planned. Do not make additional unauthorized substitutions at the site. Contact Cover 3 Foundation if there is a problem with an item provided. Who Must Complete This Training? Everyone who touches or has responsibilities involving the food program must complete this online training. This includes staff members whose responsibilities involve receiving, handling, storing, preparing, serving, counting, documenting, or otherwise working with the CACFP food program. Site supervisors are responsible for making sure applicable staff complete the required training. Food Handler Requirement At all times, at least one person with a valid food handler's card/certificate must be onsite. Sites are responsible for making sure appropriate coverage is maintained during program operations. If staffing changes could affect this requirement, the site should address the issue before operating without the required qualified person onsite. Delivery Drivers Are for Delivery Only Cover 3 Foundation delivery drivers are responsible for delivering meals. Do NOT give a delivery driver information, paperwork, messages, complaints, requests, program changes, or other communications to take back to Cover 3 Foundation. Giving information to a delivery driver does not replace contacting Cover 3 Foundation directly. If you need to communicate with Cover 3 Foundation, contact the appropriate person directly. Who to Contact Terry Joyner — Compliance Director Email: terry@cover3foundation.org Telephone: (757) 562-2252 Contact the Compliance Director regarding questions or concerns involving CACFP compliance, required paperwork, site operations, training, monitoring, meal service, food-program procedures, or other program-related matters.
